General Referrals

Please note: Only professionals (e.g., caseworkers, teachers, counselors, CASA, law enforcement) may submit General Referrals. Referrals from parents, foster parents, or friends cannot be accepted. Thank you for understanding.

General referrals for Angels in the Outfield connect children impacted by crime, abuse, and neglect with resources and support they need to heal, grow, and thrive, including access to tutoring, sports, creative outlets, and moments of connection like museum trips and sporting events.

We prioritize requests that align with our mission to provide enriching opportunities. To help us process your referral efficiently, please review our guidelines below to ensure you meet the requirements listed below before applying. Thank you for considering a referral to Angels in the Outfield.

Connecting Kids to Opportunities That Inspire Healing and Growth

    • Referrals are reviewed within 7 days.

    • Only professionals (e.g., caseworkers, teachers, counselors, CASA, law enforcement) may submit referrals. Referrals from parents, foster parents, or friends cannot be accepted.

    • The child you refer must fall within our mission and have been impacted by crime, abuse, and/or neglect.

    • We do not approve referrals for basic needs (e.g., clothing, bedding), medical/dental bills, daycare costs, or gift cards.

    • We provide up to $500 per child per calendar year.

    • Payments are made directly to service providers. We do not reimburse parents, foster parents, or guardians.

    • If approved, you must provide invoices or receipts before funds are issued.

    • Complete all sections of the form. Incomplete referrals will not be reviewed.

    • Include detailed information on how the child fits within our mission. This description is critical for approval.

    • Research and include details for the requested program, activity, or item (e.g., costs, availability, scholarship opportunities).

      • For camps, confirm availability before submitting.

      • We do not register children for programs.

    • Clearly describe your relationship to the child (e.g., CASA, school counselor, DHS caseworker).

    • Include prior referral numbers if the child has been referred before.

    • Do not copy parents or foster parents on email communications.

    • Always include your referral number in correspondence.
