Stories of Impact
Real stories of resilience and hope, highlighting the lives transformed through the support of Angels in the Outfield.

Stepping Into the Next Chapter of Our Mission
At Angels in the Outfield, every step forward is guided by our unwavering belief that every child deserves a chance to heal, dream, and thrive. Since our founding, we have walked alongside children impacted by crime, abuse, and neglect, providing resources and opportunities to help them reclaim their childhoods and build brighter futures. Today, we are thrilled to share an exciting new chapter in our mission as we unveil our redesigned website and launch transformative improvements to how we serve the community.

Isabelle’s Story
At just 16 months old, Isabelle has already survived two near-death experiences. In February 2023, due to neglect and substance use in her home, she suffered severe third-degree burns down her left leg, requiring emergency skin grafts and weeks in intensive care. Later, in October, she overdosed on fentanyl and methamphetamine and only survived because EMS administered NARCAN. Isabelle will need ongoing therapy and care to help her heal both physically and emotionally.
But, because of Angels in the Outfield, Isabelle’s resource mom can bring her to swim therapy, supporting her recovery and growth.

Emma’s Story
When Emma was younger, her parents struggled with alcohol addiction and often turned their anger on each other. Their repeated incarcerations for theft meant Emma was placed in foster care multiple times. The violence she witnessed and the pain of being separated from her family are now surfacing as self-harm, dishonesty, and signs of PTSD. Emma has begun counseling to work through these challenges.
But, because of Angels in the Outfield, Emma attends a weekly art class, giving her a safe space to heal and express herself.

Jordan’s story
Jordan was just five when he went to live with his aunt. Before that, he endured neglect, physical abuse, and unspeakable sexual trauma, witnessing his father tie up his mother, cut her, and rape her. Born with drugs in his system to parents in active addiction, Jordan still struggles with night terrors and the weight of his early experiences, even after four years in a safe and loving home.
But, because of Angels in the Outfield, Jordan participates in an after-school program where he finds structure, safety, and the chance to be a kid again.
